This was not the fault of the members of this co-op, and the region has admitted to it! But they are still going ahead with plans to take this coop over http://www.yorkregion.com/News/Thornhill /article/85645 From the article: ""What makes Thornhill Green unique is 40 per cent of its residents receive rent subsidies, governed by the province�s social housing statute. Co-ops and other forms of social housing were downloaded onto municipalities by the Mike Harris government. A funding formula which was flawed � as acknowledged by regional staff � meant for five years the co-op did not receive hundreds of thousands of dollars needed for operations and capital repairs.""So the province screws up and these people lose their coop?

The regionoal staff knew that the Co-op Housing Ferderation of canada would get involed, but dicided not to tell members of the coop. They were sitting on this for months!
