Stove - gas or electric? Thornhill Ontario I'm just trying to decide between Gas Stove or electric stove for my kitchen...can u guys tell which is better and why? Plus which one would be more energy sufficient? I know one thing food made on gas is more good in taste( ps the difference in taste is like very thin line not all can tell) and quick to cook.

GO GAS!! Gas stoves are way better and they heat up faster too.... a gas stove should last longer and food does taste better... gas stove hands down! Gas is definitely cheaper and as the previous people mentioned the food taste much better. Cooking with a gas stove is also quicker.

Go with gas! I had electric before & now we have a gas cook top & I love it Cooks so much faster & gas will be cheaper to use than electricity. There is a reason professional chefs use gas But if you really want electric, then consider induction. Never used it so I can't comment but it's pricey.

One reason that chefs prefer gas is that it is fully hot the instant it is on. Electric stoves waste a lot of energy just getting the burner up to the desired heat. Likewise if you want to lower heat, the gas is much faster to reduce.
