just wondering what residents in the Markham area thought about the traffic situation on 16th and Major Mackenzie in the morning? (for those that use it everyday to work) How long does it take you to get from your area to the 404?

I know that traffic on Major Mac from Mccowan to the 404 is pretty good. However, it is currently reduced to 1 lane due to construction. 16th Avenue seems a little congested, with posted speed limits enforced.

Living in Markham for the past 20yrs, your best bet is to take the 407, however, if this is unaffordable, Major Mac is the quickest route. Other routes you might want to consider is going south on 9th Line until you hit Steeles, but you'll likely run into traffic at Kennedy/Steeles. Woodbine, though congested, is the fastest route in comparison to any other street that goes south because it's 6-lanes in comparison to 4-lanes.

16 th is brutal.. Major mack is better even with construction. There are far less lights than 16. Going south on Warden, Kennedy and Woodbine are all busy from traffic going south from 16.
