Track that snowplow online Thornhill Ontario Did anyone hear about this? http://www.whereismysnowplow.com/map.asp ?city=Vaughan The City of Vaughan plans to equip its fleet of snowplows with GPS units this winter. Residents will then be able to check the city's website to track a snowplow's progress and figure out when it might clear their streets. It's a great system, Councillor Alan Shefman said this week at city hall. This is a good thing for staff as well because people get very upset when the streets aren't plowed.

yeah read about it somewhere , Vaughan has been on the cutting edge for snow removal . I know the works department uses a brine spray to keep ice from forming at the beginning of a snow fall , also they use a high tech green ( both in colour and environmentally ) salt substitute. It is more expensive but you use less of it .

Kind of laughed when I saw the Url was called , " Dude! Where's My Snow Plow ? " the quintessential Canadian comedy. I agree that Vaughan is on the leading edge - but was this really necessary? Cost-wise?

Well they better get ready, sounds like we're going to get dumped on this winter. It's January, and it's been a long winter already.

I'd rather track my teenage kids.

That would be a service i'd pay for. Give him a cell phone (with GPS transmitter), then go online and see where the heck he is.

Yes, I am a dastardly spy-parent.
